Learning Objectives

• I will assess your skill level and prepare a custom syllabus for you.

• I will pick you up or meet you in Park City. The local library often works.

• I will teach you the foundational principles of Photography

• I will train you on your specific camera, its controls, and menus.

• I will teach you both the Technical and Artistic aspects of Photography.

• I will lecture during transportation to and from our selected shooting area.

• I will provide water, soft drinks, power bars, and munchies.

• I will share my favorite local landscape and wildlife locations.

• I will show you how to critique your images, both technically and artistically.

• I will show you examples of images that have won awards in competitions and what judges are looking for.

I would love to teach you the foundational skills to improve your photography, whether it's using an iPhone to capture moments with your family, documenting your vacations, or creating finished artwork for your home. You'll learn to move beyond Automatic mode and explore the creative possibilities of Manual Mode. In my class, you will gain an understanding of key camera settings for technical excellence and artistic effect. I will also teach you how to select the right lens for different subjects or scenes. I can help you advance your understanding of wildlife behavior and show you how to capture those rare, once-in-a-lifetime shots. Learning to find and photograph landscape subjects in beautiful light is crucial for impactful images.
